BATON ROUGE —- A crash Sunday morning on Interstate 10 has left a 34-year-old woman dead.
Kathryn Templet died in the crash.
It was around 10:43 a.m. on Dec. 1 when BRPD officers and paramedics responded to the 16000 block of I-10 westbound, that’s at the Essen Lane crossover.
The investigation so far reveals that Templet was driving a 2004 Nissan Xterra when she lost control of her vehicle. Police say that led to her hitting another vehicle. After hitting the other vehicle, her Nissan rolled onto its side and she was partially ejected.
Detectives determined through the investigation that Templet was not wearing a seat belt. Templet did not survive the crash.
The other vehicle involved, a Mercedes G30, was occupied by three adults: two men and a woman. The driver of the Mercedes was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Neither of the passengers were injured.
This is an ongoing investigation.
