Benefit to raise money so mother & daughter can keep their home

Cameron Meche unexpectedly passed away at 25-yrs-old. Now, his loved one are putting together a benefit fundraiser to raise money for Meche's wife and their daughter to be able to keep their home.

A benefit fundraiser is being held Saturday, Feb. 19th at the VFW Hall on Churchpoint in Gonzales at 11am.

It’s in honor of Cameron Meche who suddenly died Oct. 16, 2021 from a heart condition at the age of 25. He leaves behind his wife and their 3-yr-old daughter. The fundraiser is to raise money for his wife and daughter.

Friends and family describe Meche as someone who would give you the shirt off his back, an amazing father and husband and someone who spent all his weekends with family including his parents.

He passed out while driving last year in October. Friends did CPR on him until paramedics arrived but it was too late.

Meche worked to support his family and now, his friends are stepping up holding this benefit to help Meche’s wife and daughter keep their home.

Parish County Line and Will Wesley will provide entertainment starting at 11am. There will be a jambalaya cook-off, auctions, kids games, face painting, bake sale and food & beer.

There is no cover charge but donations are welcome.

If you can’t make it out Saturday but want to help the family:
