Big rig fire shuts down I-10 westbound at Siegen

Interstate 10 westbound is shut down at the Siegen Lane exit after an 18-wheeler caught on fire.

Officials say the fire was from the big rig overheating that turned into a fire. The driver did get out so there are no reported injuries.

Since I-10 westbound is shut down for now, traffic is being diverted off at the Bluebonnet exit.

Drivers should expect heavy traffic and congestion on westbound. Traffic is backed up past the Highland exit at this time.

Drivers are urged to take alternate routes.
