Body found washed up near USS Kidd

BATON ROUGE — The latest crime scene in Baton Rouge includes a body washed up along River Rd.

The discovery was made around 7pm on Monday, May 22, when a body was reported.

The body was found between the Kidd and paper clip downtown along the levee in the Mississippi River, possibly beneath the boat.

No further details have been released at this time or a cause of death.

It is said that the body had started decomposing by the time it was found.

It’s unclear at this time if the person is a man or woman.

The discovery comes after two bodies were found in East Baton Rouge Parish in the last two days. Both are believed to be drug overdoses. A third body found turned out to be a man shot in the chest.

This is the fourth body found in the parish since Sunday.

Once more details are provided, the story will be updated.
