Bond set at $400,000+ for man arrested in connection to Clinton murder

Ron R. Thompson, 37, of Clinton, was arrested for the shooting death of a 20-yr-old in an apartment complex in East Feliciana Parish.

The shooting happened around 11:15am on May 10, 2022 at the Pretty Creek Apartments in Clinton.

Clinton PD & the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office are both investigating the murder.

Sources said there was an ongoing feud between the victim, Darrius Ross, & Thompson’s family. Ron Thompson found out about it.

On Tuesday, Thompson saw Ross pull into the Pretty Creek Apartments complex. That’s when Thompson allegedly went into the complex behind him and shot him while Ross was sitting in the vehicle.

Ross, of Slaughter, was shot multiple times and died beside his car. Ross did return fire and did hit Thompson one time in the foot.

Thompson was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm. His bond has been set at $405,000.
