BPRD investigating overnight Cedarlane homicide

A 37-yr-old man was found shot multiple times in the middle of the road on Cedarlane Dr. around 4am.

Baton Rouge Police are investigating the city’s latest homicide that happened around 4am on Cedarlane Dr.

That’s behind Airline Hwy. between Seraceder St. & Silverest Ave. 

Officers found 37-yr-old Ryan Marlow lying in the middle of 10300 block of Cedarlane Dr. with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

People who live in the area tell Unfiltered with Kiran they heard 4-5 shots before they heard a vehicle speed off. Neighbors added Xtreme Cleaners cleared the crime scene of shattered glass that was left all over the scene as well as cleaned up the aftermath.

Neighbors said they have lived in the neighborhood for decades in homes that have been passed down from one generation to another. One person said she has lived there nearly 60 years but the crime is now taking over her neighborhood.

“I wish I could move but not at this present time. This has always been a good area until the last few years,” said a neighbor who asked not to be identified by name. 

“It has just gotten so bad. We don’t have much luck with police. When we have called and they have come out, they have been helpful but we feel like we are a forgotten neighborhood,” said the neighbor. 

This is the second homicide since Friday, March 18th. Around 7:30pm in the 8500 block of Scotland Ave., 17-yr-old Markeith Franklin was shot and killed.
