BR: Five people shot, one home shot at over a 15-hr timespan

It no longer comes as a surprise anytime there is a shooting or homicide in Baton Rouge. In fact, it’s become the norm now.

Since 9:30pm on Oct. 11th through Noon on Oct. 12th, five separate people have been shot. Thankfully, none of the injured died from their injuries.

Plus, there was a shooting where a home took several bullets, but no one was injured.

It started with two people who were shot in the Scotlandville area, but could not make it to the hospital themselves. When a driver tried to take them to the hospital, sources said they ran out of gas and were stranded on I-10 eastbound with two gunshot victims in the car.

When officers learned the actual shooting happened in Scotlandville, they went back to canvas the area and found the shooting suspect(s) still inside a home.

Around the same time, there was a home that took several bullets on N. 40th St., but no one was injured.

Just before 1am on Oct. 12th on Thomas H. Delpit Dr., a man was found shot in the street. He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Around 10:30am, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office responded to Quarters Lake, just off of I-12 for an argument that led to a man getting shot in his leg.

Rounding out the day so far, just before Noon, a man showed up to the Baton Rouge General Mid-City location for a gunshot wound. A friend of the victim told officers that he was most likely the intended target for the shooting, but instead, his passenger in the vehicle ended up shot.
