BATON ROUGE — Eight people have been charged after a courthouse brawl between some family members at the East Baton Rouge Parish District Court.
It happened around 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13th, inside the 19th JDC courthouse during a proceeding in Judge Crifasi’s court.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office provides deputies who work the courthouse. EBRSO said “family members from the proceedings had an argument in the hallway that turned into a physical fight.”
Courtroom deputies and nearby Baton Rouge Police officers did intervene. During the fight, a small child was injured when someone toppled on him. EBRSO says he had a bump on his head. That was the only reported injury.
Seven women and one man are facing charges for simple battery, inciting a riot and child endangerment in connection to the courthouse brawl.
