BATON ROUGE — East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies have charged a man with the murder of his wife following a domestic incident at their home.
Antonio Jones, 46, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Keisha Jones, 43. He is also charged with illegal possession of stolen firearms.
The fatal incident occurred on East Glen Court shortly after 8 a.m. on October 1. This residential area is located between Mickens Road and Greenwell Street, near Glen Oaks Magnet High School.
Deputies confirmed to UWK that Antonio called 911, claiming he killed his wife in self-defense. However, they report that Keisha was shot multiple times and appeared to have been shielding herself at the time of the shooting.
Detectives say they recovered “video surveillance footage that recorded evidence of a physical disturbance and ongoing arguments throughout the early morning hours.” They also said Antonio allegedly exited the residence armed with a firearm after the homicide.
According to court documents, Antonio reportedly confessed to shooting his wife after a “physical altercation.” However, deputies said his claim of self-defense was “unsubstantiated.”
Antonio is currently being held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. The couple had a four-year-old child, according to family members.

“He took a mother, our daughter, sister,” Meyaron Coston told UWK. “We want justice. We just want justice.” Family members said the woman leaves behind a four-year-old son.
Family members told UWK that the suspect’s uncle called deputies two weeks ago after the suspect allegedly threatened to kill his wife while intoxicated. They claim authorities took him in for questioning but later “brought him back home.”
“If something would have been done, then this would not be happening today,” Coston said through tears.
The uncle who reportedly contacted deputies about the threat two weeks ago also believes the entire incident could have been prevented.
“There’s a good woman in there, a hardworking woman in there dead,” the uncle said.
