CENTRAL — A toddler was rushed to a Baton Rouge hospital after a tragic accident, in which he ran in front of a vehicle, EBRSO said. Deputies now report the child did not survive his injuries. Officials are not releasing the toddler’s name.
It happened Tuesday afternoon around 12:20 p.m., July 1, right outside of the City of Central.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene and the toddler, believed to be a 2-year-old boy, was airlifted to Children’s Hospital, where the little boy was listed in very critical condition.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigating agency on the case. The tragic incident is believed to be a true accident at this time with the little boy running out in front of a vehicle.
EBRSO says they do not plan to charge anyone in the case due to it being a tragic accident.
