BATON ROUGE — A 21-year-old man is accused of shooting his sister’s boyfriend to death Friday has been arrested.
Rayland Forman was booked on May 22 with second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and possession of a stolen firearm, according to sheriff’s office records.
About 12:30 a.m. Friday, August Jones, 18, was fighting verbally and physically with his girlfriend in their apartment at 6680 Hanks Drive, Forman’s arrest affidavit said.
She left the apartment, and investigators said Forman approached Jones and shot him repeatedly. Jones died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Forman waited at the crime scene for law enforcement, the arrest affidavit said. He told detectives he got the gun he used from someone he didn’t know about a month before the killing. The gun turned out to be stolen, the affidavit said.
