BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police recently arrested a fifth teenager involved in an armed robbery and shooting that took place back in January 2025. The other four teens were arrested earlier this year, according to court and arrest records.
On January 16th, BRPD’s Armed Robbery detectives began investigating a robbery and shooting that took place at a smoke shop at 2272 N Foster Dr. According to a warrant, after reviewing surveillance footage, detectives learned that five people were involved in the shooting and robbery.
The victim was shot multiple times in the chest and legs and transported to a local hospital where he was expected to survive his injuries.
The suspects fled in a car after allegedly shooting and robbing the victim, officials said.
Based on their investigation and evidence obtained, detectives made five arrests in relation to the robbery and shooting. They arrested the fifth suspect on July 22nd.
The following people were arrested and face charges:
• Brandon Hymes Jr., 17
- Attempted first degree murder
- Armed robbery with firearm
- Possession of marijuana
- Fugitive (Plaquemine PD)
Hymes has an arrest history of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, according to BRPD.

- Attempt first degree murder

• Eddie Snearl Jr, 17
- Attempted first degree murder
- Armed robbery with a firearm
• Amad Joseph, 18
- Attempted first degree murder
- Armed robbery with a firearm
• Javen Leblanc, 17
- Attempted first degree murder
- Armed robbery with a firearm
