BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police officers are investigating after a body was found in the lakes near the Capitol.
The body has now been identified as 35-year-old Trevin Blackmore. Officials do not have the exact cause of death at this time as an autopsy is pending, but officials added at this time, they do not suspect any foul play and did not find any trauma to the body.
It was around 2:30 p.m. when paramedics were asked to respond to North 3rd St. for a potential body in the lakes. That’s after a groundskeeper working the area saw what they believed to be a body. That’s when paramedics alerted police and contacted the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office confirming a body had been found.
BRPD has not released any further details at this time.
