BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police officers are investigating another homicide in the city.

The most recent happened in the 3000 block of North St., or in the parking lot of Eric’s Grocery.

BRPD officers received a call around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1 for a a person shot and died on the scene.

No further details were available at the time of this article.

The homicide comes on what has been a very violent week with now 10 shootings, five people dead and another 10 people injured.

But BRPD Chief TJ Morse says majority of the violence this year has been targeted or retaliatory crime, not random people shot.
