Baton Rouge Police are on the scene of a person shot to the head.
The shooting happened around 4:30pm on Sunday, June 5, 2022 in the 3100 block of Winnebago St.
The person shot did die on the scene.
The scene includes a very large perimeter with several officers on scene. As officers were investigating the homicide, shots rang out not even half a mile away and witnesses said they definitely heard another shooting.
It happened in the 3400 block of Geronimo St. That is 0.4 miles away from the homicide.
With both scenes being active investigations, details are limited right now. It’s also unclear if the two shootings are connected. As more becomes available, it will be passed on.
