BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) is investigating a deadly Saturday night crash.
BPRD responded to the 7700 block of Greenwell Springs Road around 11:40 p.m. on July 25, where they found a man lying in the road on the bridge directly over Airline Highway. There was no vehicle at the scene, and the man had unknown injuries, so initially homicide detectives were notified and started investigating.
After reviewing the scene, traffic homicide detectives were notified and took over the investigation. They determined a vehicle was heading east on Greenwell Springs Rd. when the driver hit the victim, identified as 39-year-old John Le Nguyen, who was believed to be walking in the right lane. He did not survive his injuries.
The suspect drove away from the scene without calling 911. If you have any information on the deadly hit-and-run crash, you’re urged to call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
