BRPD makes arrest in overnight stabbing death at ATM

Baton Rouge Police is investigating the city’s latest homicide, a stabbing death at an ATM.

It happened around 3am on March 5 at an ATM on the corner of Plank Rd. and Choctaw Dr. The location has a stand-alone ATM in what’s otherwise a vacant lot.

Sources tell Unfiltered with Kiran an anonymous person self-reported that he had stabbed a man at the ATM and he was on the ground with stab wounds.

The victim was found and transported to an area hospital.

The victim however did not survive the injuries and died. He has been identified as Arthur Mitchell, 51.

BRPD has arrested Silvester Lethermon, 50, for the stabbing death of Mitchell. Police say the two got into a verbal argument that led up to the stabbing.

As soon as more details are available, the story will be updated.
