Police investigate second triple shooting today in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge Police are currently responding to the second triple shooting of the day with at least two scenes a block apart.

It was around 1:30 p.m. when someone reported a shootout in the 1300 block of W. Roosevelt Street with at least two victims found shot at that location and a third person was found a block away at Indiana and W. Garfield streets.



A man and woman were shot at multiple times at the W. Roosevelt Street scene. The woman was shot at least three times, including in the head. The man appears to have been shot in the leg. Both have been transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

About a block away, a man was found shot on Indiana and W. Garfield streets. He was shot at least twice. His current condition is unknown at this time.

This is the second triple shooting of the day with the first one being around 3:45 a.m. in the 4800 block of Underwood Avenue, that’s roughly seven miles away from the most recent triple shooting. In that shooting, three women were shot and one of the women died at the scene.

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP.
