BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge police detectives have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old David Atkins.
Treylen Williams, 18, was arrested Thursday, February 15, and booked for 1st Degree Murder and Armed Robbery at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Earlier this week, Baton Rouge Police made quick arrests of three suspects, a man and two juveniles, for their roles in the fatal shooting on Washington Avenue.
Travelle Burris, 19, and two juveniles were arrested by BRPD for the fatal shooting of Atkins, 18, who was found dead on Saturday, February 10, in the 2600-block of Washington Avenue.
Police believe robbery may have been the motive for the shooting.
Burris was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and the two juveniles were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Detention.
All three suspects are facing charges of 1st Degree Murder, Armed Robbery and Illegal Use of a Weapon.

Authorities had been searching for David Atkins since November 2023 after he escaped from the East Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention Center twice.
On Saturday, February 10, BRPD officers were called to a reported double shooting of two teenagers in the 2600-block of Washington Avenue off Plank Road.
Atkins was shot multiple times and died inside the home on Washington Avenue. A 17-year-old was also shot at the same location and found a block away. He was transported to a hospital for gunshot wounds to the arm and foot.
