BATON ROUGE — Former Baton Rouge Police Officer Wade Hill has been indicted on charges of second-degree kidnapping and malfeasance in office, nearly three years after he was first accused of abducting a woman while on duty. An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury handed down the indictment on June 25, 2025, marking a major development in a case that has lingered since Hill’s arrest.
Hill was originally arrested on September 1, 2022, accused of kidnapping a woman who was allegedly trespassing. His arrest came nearly two months after the incident, which occurred on July 8, 2022.
According to Baton Rouge Police, Hill was asked by an apartment manager to remove a woman reportedly trespassing on the property. Sources told UWK that Hill was in uniform and driving his department-issued patrol unit when he responded to the call.
Instead of removing the woman from the premises, Hill allegedly handcuffed her and placed her in his police car. He is then accused of transferring her, while still handcuffed, into his personal vehicle and taking her to multiple locations before bringing her to his apartment.
Records indicate the woman was allegedly touched inappropriately and subjected to several sexual comments. Hill eventually removed her handcuffs, and he is accused of masturbating in front of her.
Hill joined BRPD in December 2020 and was assigned to uniform patrol in the department’s third district. He was terminated on Sept. 26, 2022, following a disciplinary hearing.
At the time of his arrest, Hill was charged with second-degree kidnapping, obscenity, malfeasance in office, and misdemeanor sexual battery.
Hill recently appealed his termination before the Baton Rouge Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service Board, but the hearing was continued. The current police chief has stated he intends to oppose the appeal and stand by the administration’s decision to terminate Hill.
