BRPD searching for driver after deadly hit-and-run

BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police Department Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist. It happened around 1:40 a.m. on May 31 in the 3300 block of Winbourne Avenue.

Detectives said they believe a dark colored SUV was driving west on Winbourne Ave. when it hit a cyclist.

The cyclist has been identified as 26-year-old Tyrese Singleton. He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene before police arrived.

Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to contact the BRPD Traffic Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867 (STOP).
