BRPD: Three juveniles arrested for deadly quadruple shooting on New Year’s Day

BATON ROUGE, La. – Baton Rouge police have arrested three juveniles in connection with a quadruple shooting on New Year’s Day.

The Baton Rouge Police Violent Crimes Apprehension Team and the U.S. The Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested three juveniles yesterday for the shooting at 4600 West Brookstown Drive on January 1, 2024.

In that shooting, four juveniles were shot while they were walking on West Brookstown Drive by the suspects in a passing car. The shooting happened around 1:30pm.


Three of the gunshot victims were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The fourth juvenile, Ramide Cosey, 15, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three juveniles arrested for this shooting were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Detention Center and face charges of 1st Degree Murder and Attempted 1st Degree Murder.
