Around 2am, a man told police he was driving on Interstate 110 northbound when someone riding alongside pulled up and started shooting at him.
The driver had been shot in the right side of his lower chest.
Officers did find five new bullet holes in the vehicle along with two old holes.

Other shootings over this timeframe include two people driving on Florida Blvd. when someone started shooting at them. Both people were shot.
There was the shooting at Charcoal Lounge with five people shot, one of whom died, two suffered life-threatening injuries and two others had non-life threatening injuries.
Multiple shooting involved children including an infant shot at simply by being in cars.
Majority of the shootings involve juveniles.
