BRUSLY — All the schools on the south end of West Baton Rouge Parish were placed on lockdown Wednesday morning.
The four schools in Brusly were placed on a soft lockdown briefly as authorities searched for multiple car burglary suspects in Addis.
Addis Police Chief Ricky Anderson said there have been multiple car burglaries in the Sunset and Sugarmilll areas.
Anderson said there are four possible suspects and at least two shots were fired. He said the four suspects allegedly split up.
He said one suspect was spotted in the woods near Sunset, so the lockdown was lifted as officers now focused their search in the woods.
Anderson said the lockdown was placed as a precaution because authorities didn’t know where the shots came from.
Right now, officials are setting up a perimeter with K-9 units and a drone.
