HAMMOND — Hammond Police are investigating a series of thefts at the On the Run on East Morris Avenue.
Police say on multiple occasions, a suspect entered the store and immediately went to the candy section. Employees saw the man take multiple, individually packaged candies and candy bars from the shelves and put them in his clothing. When employees confronted him, he took off toward North Cherry Street.
In all, police say the man has stolen nearly $800 worth of candy.
