Capital One Bank shut down after possible suspicious package

UPDATE: Deputies have cleared the bank and the package turned out to be a block of wood with tape. The bank will re-open shortly.

ORIGINAL: The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is responding to the Capital One Bank on Siegen Lane for a possible suspicious package.

Officials said staff at the bank found a suspicious package in the night drop box.

Out of an abundance of caution, deputies are treating it as a real threat. It’s why the bank is shut down as officials investigate.
