BATON ROUGE — Police officers are investigating the city’s latest murder where an innocent man, a plumber, was shot after he was caught in a crossfire.
It was just after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 when Baton Rouge Police officers responded to a shooting at 4660 Fairfields Ave. with a man inside his truck. At the scene, officers found Trevor Harrison, 27, of Central, shot in the face.
Sources confirm to UWK that Harrison, who was a plumber, was completing a job near the shooting scene and was in his work pickup truck.
When multiple shots rang out, the driver’s side of Harrison’s truck was caught in the crossfire. Harrison was hit by one of the bullets. After he was shot, the truck crashed into a parked vehicle. Harrison died on the scene. A nearby homeowner also reported bullet holes lodged in their home from the shooting. Upon arrival, officers found numerous shell casings around the area.
Harrison, a plumber by trade, was working on a job site on Saturday night, when he was shot. The young man was saving money and was about to graduate in civil engineering and computer pipe design and drafting on March 7th. He was top of his class and on the Dean’s list.
At this time, police do not have any suspects and the motive for the shooting is unclear. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP. The reward is now up to $5,000 cash for information that leads to the arrest if a tipster calls into Crime Stoppers within 48 hours of the murder.

Trevor was a hardworking college student who balanced his studies with a job as a plumber, determined to build a bright future. Unfortunately, he did not have life insurance or any financial support to assist with funeral expenses.

Let a black man work in Livingston and get shot in a crossfire and see what happens. Unbelievable a girl get killed by the train tracks 3 years ago and now this. This isn’t racism it’s culture. I didn’t start that the black community did!
