“He was a proud father and a loyal, amazing friend who was always there for everyone he loved. His loss is felt by many especially his family and chosen family,” said family friend JoAnna DeLatte.

Russell, 38, was killed in the hit & run on Friday March 11th around 7:30pm on Joor Rd.

“It was initially believed and reported that the suspect vehicle was possibly a 90’s model S10 pickup, red with a white stripe. Through further investigation, Central Police now believe the suspect vehicle is a red, 4-door pickup. Central PD is asking for help in identifying the truck and driver of the truck. We’re asking people for a license plate number of the truck,” said Chief Corcoran.

Russell leaves behind four children, two step-children and was proceeded in death by his son Landon. By trade, DeLatte said Russell was a very talented artist and tattoo artist.

Now, she said his friends and family are simply praying whoever hit him comes forward.

“I just hope that maybe someone will come forward with information after knowing a little bit about him,” said DeLatte.

Anyone with any information on the red truck or the driver is asked to call Central Police at 225-367-1254.
