Central: Hooper Rd. re-opens after big rig flips

CENTRAL —- Drivers were asked to avoid Hooper Rd. near Greenwell Springs Rd. due to a crash. The roadway has since re-opened.

Central Police Chief Roger Corcoran tells UWK the driver of a truck was headed south on Greenwell Springs Rd. when he attempted turning right onto Hooper Rd. to go west.

That’s when he flipped and ended up on its side. The driver was not injured.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. on Monday, July 9th in Central.

Chief Corcoran said the truck was carrying wastewater and it is not hazardous but clearing the accident scene took a long time.

It’s why Hooper Rd. was shut down between Devall and Greenwell Springs Rd.
