CENTRAL — Officials in Central responded to an early morning crash that killed a 50-yr-old man and shut down Joor Rd. for hours.
Central Police Chief Roger Corcoran tells Unfiltered with Kiran a black Honda Accord was headed north on Joor Rd. At the same time, a Chevy Silverado 3500 crossed the center line and hit the Accord head-on. The driver of the Accord did not survive his injuries. Central Police have identified the Accord driver as Charles Lepisto, 50, of Baton Rouge. Lepisto was headed to work in Zachary when he was hit. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck was not buckled and was ejected. He was transported to a hospital and is in critical condition. His name has not been released at this time.

It happened around 7 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 on Joor Rd. near Hwy. 64. That’s east of Blackwater and Greenwell Springs-Port Hudson roads. As of 2 p.m., Joor Rd. reopened to traffic.
Central Police say speed is considered a factor and toxicology results are pending.
