CENTRAL —- The mayor of Central was involved in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening and transported to a hospital.
The crash happened at Hooper & Blackwater Roads in Central after 8 p.m. The mayor and an occupant were injured in the crash and both were taken to a hospital. The serious crash deployed air bags in his truck.
The occupant(s) of the other vehicle were not transported to a hospital.
Mayor Wade Evans’ injuries are minor, he told UWK.
“I’m fine. Just some burns from the air bag. I want to thank the first responders for their quick professional response,” Mayor Evans said.
Central PD is leading the investigation into what led up to the crash.
