CENTRAL, La. — A nephew is behind bars accused of shooting and killing his uncle in the backyard of a home on Denham Rd. in Central in East Baton Rouge Parish.
It was just before 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25 when East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 13600 block of Denham Rd. for a man’s body found. That’s off of Joor Rd.
Upon arrival, deputies found Vaughn Wilson, 59, lying in the back of the property with multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses reported seeing the victim walk to the back of his property with his nephew, Jordy Wilson, 37, then hearing at least three gunshots before the Wilson left the property alone.
Sources tell UWK that Wilson then left the area and was spotted in Livingston Parish. That’s when the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation and found Wilson at a business on Range Rd in Denham Springs.
Wilson did not speak with deputies but thanks to a search warrant, deputies did find a gun, suspected methamphetamine and suspected cocaine.
He was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail as a fugitive from EBRSO for second degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of schedule II drugs.
A bond cannot be set at this time as he has to be transported to East Baton Roue Parish to be charged in the parish.
