Children find parents dead from apparent murder-suicide

Police responded just before 4pm to Wheelock Ln. for a man and woman found dead inside their home.

The Maringouin Police Office & Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Dept. are investigating an apparent murder-suicide of a couple.

Maringouin Police Chief Hosea Anderson said it was just before 4pm when they responded to Wheelock Ln. for a man and woman found shot dead inside their home.

Chief Anderson identified the couple as a husband and wife: Samuel Moody, 40, & Jana Hoffman, 38, both of Maringouin.

The motive remains under investigation.

Police have not responded to the home before today for any domestic calls.
