GRAMERCY — An early Christmas morning crash on LA 641, south of I-10, in St. James Parish resulted in four people losing their lives and two others injured. Three of the deceased are from Baton Rouge.
Louisiana State Police Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash around 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 25 that happened on LA 641, south of the interstate. The crash killed35-year-old Tyreione Parker, 29-year-old Kedrick Robertson, and 35-year-old Gevin Harvey, all of Baton Rouge, as well as 22-year-old Christina Gillam of Shreveport.
According to LSP, Tyreione Parker, who was driving a 2008 Honda Accord, was going north on LA 641 while another vehicle, a 2019 GMC Sierra, was traveling south. For reasons still under investigation, Parker lost control of his vehicle and started rotating, entering the other lane where the Accord then hit the GMC.
Parker, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. Three of the passengers, Robertson (in the front) and Gillam and Harvey, were all unrestrained and suffered severe injuries from the crash. They were transported to local hospitals and later died of their injuries.
A 13-year-old rear-seat passenger was also improperly restrained during the crash and was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries, according to officials.
The driver of the GMC was properly restrained, sustained moderate injuries, and was transported to a local hospital. Impairment is unknown; however, standard toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
The investigation is ongoing. No other details are available at this time.
