COVINGTON — A 31-year-old man with the Snapchat username “Slimeydude” pleaded guilty to rape and drug crimes Tuesday, according to the St. Tammany Parish district attorney’s office. He was sentenced to serve 50 years in prison.
Police said Allen Edward Tate Jr., 31, met the then-12-year-old victim and her sister on Snapchat, where he offered to supply the juvenile girls with vapes.
Tate was on the verge of a trial on the rape and related charges when he decided to plead guilty on the second day of jury selection.
Tate pleaded guilty to second-degree rape, sexual battery involving a victim under 13 and two counts of conspiracy to distribute a narcotic drug to someone under 18, the district attorney’s office sid.
He also pleaded guilty to carnal knowledge of a juvenile, conspiracy to distribute a Schedule III drug and illegal carrying of a weapon with drugs in other cases.
Judge Vincent Lobello sentenced Tate to 50 years in prison without the possibility of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
Covington Police began investigating the rape in September 2024 when a woman reported that her 13-year-old daughter had been sexually abused in March 2024. The girl was 12 when Tate met her and her older sister on Snapchat.
Police said he went to their house, lured the younger girl into his vehicle, locked the doors and raped her.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tate a few hours after that on drug charges. Investigators later found the victim’s DNA on shorts that Tate was wearing at the time of the drug arrest.
At the time, he was out on bond in a felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile case related to coercing a15-year-old to perform oral sex on him in exchange for a marijuana vape pen, the district attorney’s office said.
When Tate was arrested in October 2023, police searched his home and vehicle. They found six guns and body armor, along with fentanyl, ecstasy, MDMA liquid LSD, methamphetamine, cocaine, Adderall and “hundreds” of THC edibles and cartridges, the district attorney’s office said.
The victim’s mother, whose name was not released, told Tate in a victim impact statement Tuesday that he was “exactly where you deserve to be.”
“You did this to my daughter. I know she’s not the only one,” she said. “You’ll never be able to do this to another kid again.”
