DUTCHTOWN UPDATE – Three juveniles have been arrested in connection to the ongoing investigation at Dutchtown Middle School. All three face charges of sexting, with one individual facing an additional charge of non-consensual disclosure.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the incident, but school officials previously confirmed that disciplinary actions were taken following a cyberbullying investigation.

DUTCHTOWN — Dutchtown Middle School is investigating a cyberbullying incident that occurred this week, UWK has learned.
Multiple sources told UWK that up to 20 students may have faced disciplinary action in connection to the incident. However, Ascension Parish school officials have not confirmed the details of what happened nor have they explained the discipline.
In a statement to UWK, the school said, “Dutchtown Middle and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated an incident of cyberbullying. While we are unable to share specific details due to the involvement of minors, appropriate school consequences have been assigned in accordance with our Student Handbook.”
According to the student handbook, cyberbullying is classified as a major offense. Disciplinary measures for such offenses may include Saturday detention, loss of privileges, in-school or out-of-school suspension, expulsion, or a combination of these actions.
The full extent of the incident remains unclear. UWK reached out to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for more information, but they referred inquiries back to APPS.
Sources say multiple students were called to the office during the school day on Tuesday regarding a reported video that was being circulated. UWK has not been able to confirm this with officials.
Parents who contacted UWK about the reported cyberbullying expressed frustration with the school and district’s lack of communication. Parents, who requested anonymity, said students have been discussing the alleged video and the disruptions caused by calling students to the office. They have expressed concern about the lack of information provided, making it difficult to address the issue with their child.
