Keshiara Kibby, 21, was arrested for attempted second degree murder. She’s accused of shooting and seriously injuring her mother’s boyfriend.
On Feb. 24, 2022 around 4pm, East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputies went out to a home on Tracy Ave. for a 911 call of a man shot in the chest.
Once on scene, officials learned Kibby’s mother got into an argument with her live-in boyfriend. That’s when deputies said Kibby intervened and the argument turned physical with no weapons involved at this point.
Her mother was able to separate the two but then the victim armed himself with a hammer and allegedly started walking towards Kibby aggressively. Kibby’s mother allegedly pushed her boyfriend out the front door of the home. Kibby then went to her bedroom and armed herself with a gun according to arresting documents.
Kibby’s mother and her boyfriend were outside the home calming down when Kibby allegedly walked outside with the gun and started the argument back up. During that argument, Kibby allegedly shot the boyfriend in the chest.
Kibby initially left the scene but returned voluntarily and surrendered the gun and herself.
