Albany man killed in I-10 crash at Iberville–West Baton Rouge parish line

GROSSE TETE — A 51-year-old man from Albany died in a crash on Interstate 10 eastbound at the Iberville–West Baton Rouge parish line early Tuesday morning. The crash did shut down the interstate causing major traffic delays during the morning commute, but has since re-opened.

The deceased has been identified as Phillip Scott, 51, of Albany, La.

The crash happened near Grosse Tete at around 4:45 a.m. Authorities have not yet released details about how many vehicles were involved or what led to the crash. Heavy fog was visible on the DOTD traffic cameras.

All eastbound lanes were closed at the parish line. Police have since opened all lanes.
