Denham PD investigating possible kidnapping & rape

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA: The Denham Springs Police Dept. is asking for the public’s help with any information on an alleged kidnapping & rape in the city on Friday night.

It was around 9pm on Dec. 9th when DSPD took a call for a possible kidnapping of a woman walking on Hwy. 190 towards Pete’s Hwy. in Denham Springs.

The victim told officers she was then taken to an unknown location on foot, where she was allegedly raped by the suspect.

Denham Springs Police say the only information the victim could provide on the kidnapping & rape was “the suspect was a black male with a hooded sweatshirt pulled over his face and he took her to a wooded area, possibly near Gray’s Creek or Pete’s Hwy, where there was a mattress on the ground.”

The victim’s identification will not be released as it’s never released in a sexual crime case.

Denham Springs Police said they do not want to cause panic in the city, but make sure the public is aware of their surroundings at all times. Plus, maybe the public may have any information that could assist officers in their investigation.

Denham Springs Police officers are working to gather information and evidence at this time and are asking for the public’s assistance.

Anyone with information on the incident, please contact the Denham Springs Police Dept at (225) 665-5106.
