Denham Springs investigating fight turned shooting

Between 12:30-1am on Sunday, July 31st, Denham Springs Police officers responded to Big Mike’s Sports Bar & Grill just off Range Ave.

DSPD said it started as a fight and turned into shots fired.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the shooting.

Denham Police did arrest Jasper Patton, 22, of Pitkin, LA. He’s charged with illegal discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Details on the actual shooting are still being worked out. Officials said when more information was available, it would be released.

The incident remains under investigation.

  1. Denham Springs “inviting” fight… should that be investigating? Then it says it started as a shooting and turned to shots fired but there’s no mention of it starting as a fight and turned into shots fired.
