DENHAM SPRINGS, La. – A father and two children died in an overnight fire that raced through two mobile homes in Livingston Parish.
They have been identified as Nemorio Romero (father), his daughter Natalie Romero, 10, and her brother Jason Romero, 9.
The Livingston Parish Fire Department District 4 was called out around 12:53 a.m. in the Denham Place Mobile Home Park off of Burgess Road in Denham Springs.
When crews arrived, the mobile home was fully involved with multiple vehicles near the home. Firefighters immediately began battling the blaze and found several people may still be inside of the main structure.
Once firefighters were able to get inside to search the home, they the two Walker Elementary children and an adult, who were deceased.
In all, two mobile homes and four vehicles were involved in this incident. LPFD says the fire had been burning inside the home for an extended period of time prior to 911 being called.
Neighbors did not notice the fire until the mobile home was nearly engulfed in flames.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Living Parish Fire Department and the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal.
