DENHAM SPRINGS —- A Denham Springs man died after a two-vehicle crash on LA 1019 near Amite Church Road in Livingston Parish.
It was after 4:00 p.m. on Nov. 28 when Louisiana State Troopers responded to the crash.
John Cason, 55, of Denham Springs, died in the crash.
The investigation so far shows that Cason was driving a 2015 Mazda 3 north on LA 1019, south of Amite Church Road. At the same time, a 2017 Nissan Altima was headed south on LA 1019.
For unknown reasons, the Mazda crossed the centerline and hit the Nissan head-on.
Troopers say Cason was not buckled at the time of the crash. He had severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, but did not survive his injuries.
The driver of the Nissan was buckled up and had moderate injuries. Impairment is not suspected but troopers did take a standard toxicology samples and submitted for analysis.
