ERWINVILLE — A 52-year-old man from Denham Springs on a motorcycle died in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon.
It was just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21 when Louisiana State Police Troopers responded to Hwy. 413 south of Hwy. 3091 in West Baton Rouge Parish.
Martin Laster, 52, of Denham Springs, died in the crash.
The investigation so far shows that Laster was driving a 2015 Indian motorcycle north on Hwy. 413 when he entered a right curve. At the same time, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was southbound on Hwy. 413. For reasons still under investigation, Laster did not turn into the curve and went into the southbound lane crashing head-on into the Chevrolet.
Laster had serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, but did not survive. Troopers say he was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet was properly buckled and was not injured. Impairment is unknown at this time but troopers did take a toxicology sample. This crash remains under investigation.
