Denham Springs man sentenced to 20 years for cruelty to a juvenile

A Denham Springs man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after he pleaded no contest to cruelty to a juvenile charge, according to Livingston Parish District Attorney Scott Perrilloux.

Michael Bayham was arrested in May 2022 when an individual submitted evidence of Bayham allegedly abusing a young child. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered that Bayham used his phone to record himself verbally and physically abusing the victim.

According to Perrilloux, the investigation helped authorities also arrest Jamie King for cruelty to a juvenile in June 2022. King is set to appear for a jury trial in May 2023.
