BATON ROUGE — Two more Louisiana lottery winners claimed their prizes in the April 29 drawing, leaving just one prize left unclaimed.
On May 21, George McLeod, of Singer, claimed his $2 million match-5 Powerball with Power Play prize, bringing home $1,460,000 after state and federal taxes. He bought the ticket at Singer Food Store, which earned a $20,000 for selling the ticket.
And on May 29, Friednly Smiles Enterprises claimed a $1 million match-5 Powerball prize on behalf of their client, that was sold at Magnolia Discount, in Gretna. The winner took home $730,000 after taxes, and Magnolia Discount received a $10,000 bonus.
“It feels amazing that my store sold one of 11 winning tickets in Louisiana. It’s been a long time since Louisiana hit big, and I’m proud to be a part of that number,” Rick Fouad, the owner of Magnolia Discount said.
As of June 1, only one $1 million prize from this drawing remains unclaimed. The Louisiana Lottery encourages all players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing to protect their claim. Winning tickets for draw-style games must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.

BATON ROUGE — Four more people, including two in the Greater Baton Rouge area, have claimed their lottery prizes following the April 29 Powerball drawing.
Dean Francis, from Denham Springs, claimed his $1 million prize, taking home $730,000 after taxes. Francis purchased his winning ticket from the RaceTrac store on Juban Road in Denham Springs.
Another local winner, Karla Browning of Baton Rouge, claimed her $2 million prize on Monday, May 11, taking home $1,460,005.84 after state and federal tax withholdings. She purchased her ticket from a Circle K on O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge.
Two other winners, from Shreveport and Alexandria, also claimed their winnings this week. Those winners were Kimberly Horton, who took home $1,460,000, and Jacquelyn Green, who took home $1,460,005.84.
“Congratulations to each of these winners. Together they represent millions of dollars won right here in Louisiana,” said Louisiana Lottery President Rose Hudson. “We still have three unclaimed winning tickets from this historic drawing, and we urge those holders to sign the backs of their tickets immediately to protect their claim. We can’t wait to meet them and celebrate their wins.”
Winning tickets for draw-style games must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.

Seven people who won $1 million or more in the April 29 Powerball drawing have yet to come forward. Four of the 11 total who won have claimed their prizes. Two bought tickets at the same store in Denham Springs.
Louisiana Lottery called the number of winners “unprecedented” in a news release Thursday.
Six of the 11 winning tickets matched five numbers for a $1 million prize. In the other five cases, the player matched five numbers and had paid $1 more to add a “Power Play” option, which doubled the prize.
Four of the winners have come forward to claim their winnings, including the two who bought their tickets in Denham Springs.
Richard Boudreau, of Denham Springs, claimed his $2 million prize on Wednesday, taking home $1.46 million after tax withholdings.
Ranjeet Singh, of Fresno, Calif., claimed his $1 million prize on Thursday, which amounted to $730,000 after taxes.
Both men bought their tickets at the Circle K store on Juban Road, which will get a $30,000 bonus, the news release said.
The two other people who claimed their prizes were Larry Sheffield, of Marrero, and Antonio Bradford, of Shreveport. Both men won $1 million and took home $730,000, the lottery news release said.
That leaves seven winning tickets, and winners have six months to claim their prizes. Players can check to see if their Powerball tickets were winners at the Louisiana Lottery’s web site.
Locally, winning tickets were sold at a Racetrac in Denham Springs and two different Circle K stores in Baton Rouge.
