DENHAM SPRINGS — Officials have now released the names of two people killed in a deadly crash Monday night on South Range.
It happened around 6:15 p.m. on South Range Avenue at Hazelnut St. That’s just in front of the Walmart Supercenter in Denham Springs.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash, Denham Springs PD said. The initial investigation indicates that a Ford F250 going northbound on Range crossed over the mountable curb divider and collided with a Nissan Maxima, as well as two other vehicles.
Officials are unsure at this time why the driver of the Ford truck crossed over the divider.
The occupants in the F250 and Maxima died at the scene. Officials confirmed that 69-year-old Michael Wale from Denham Springs, and 65-year-old Richard McLaren from Ball, both died of their injuries in the crash.
The drivers of the other two vehicles sustained minor injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
