WALKER —- A 54-year-old Denham Springs woman was killed on Friday afternoon in a crash in Livingston Parish.
Shortly after 4:00 a.m. on August 2, 2024, Louisiana State Police troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA 63 at Steve Hughes Road in Livingston Parish.
Dianne Lee, 54, of Denham Springs, died in the crash.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a 2008 GMC Sierra, driven by Lee, was headed southbound on LA 63. For reasons still under investigation, the GMC went off the roadway to the left into a ditch a hit a culvert before hitting a tree.
Troopers say Lee was properly buckled but still had serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.
Impairment is not suspected, however, standard toxicology samples will be taken and submitted for analysis, per State Police.
The front seat passenger was properly buckled and had moderate injuries. They were transported to a local hospital. A rear seat juvenile passenger was not buckled during the crash, and was uninjured. This crash remains under investigation.
