Central: Deputies investigating Sunday morning murder-suicide

EAST BATON ROUGE —- Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting in Central that appears to be a murder-suicide leaving two people dead.

It was around 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3 when East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies responded to the address on Arleen Ave. That’s off of Blackwater Rd. in the City of Central. EBRSO is the lead on the case.

Protective order ignored: Central couple found dead weeks after domestic violence arrest

Early reports indicate a murder-suicide by gunshot involving a man and a woman and potentially a domestic violence case.

The deceased have now been identified as Paul Varnado, 54, and Alanna Singleton, 54. Deputies say Varnado shot his girlfriend and then killed himself.

No further details have been released currently.
