Someone passing by happened to see the MAP driver being attacked and called 911. When the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the scene, he happened to see the MAP driver being attacked and shot at the attacker.
Both the attacker and MAP driver were transported to a hospital. Both have died from the injuries.
The WBRSO has now requested the Louisiana State Police to come in and investigate the deputy-involved shooting, which is usually procedure to have an outside agency investigate.
