Detectives investigating theft at two retail outlets

HAMMOND — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office asks for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects in two shoplifting cases.

Officials say detectives are investigating shoplifting at the Tractor Supply in Hammond and the Dollar General in Robert.

In the Dollar General case, officials say a man entered the store on Dec. 7 shortly after 11 a.m., gathered various items from around the store, and placed them into a shopping cart. The suspect left the store through the rear receiving door without paying.

He left in a black older model four-door car with dark windows. According to authorities, the suspect wore a camouflage jacket, gray sweatpants, and a dark blue hat. The same suspect description was also provided to investigators on other shoplifting cases.

In the Tractor Supply case, a man entered the store on Dec. 10 around 5 p.m. and grabbed two large items from the shelf. One item taken was a 2000-watt inverter, and the other was a DeWalt 20V Max 5-tool combo kit.

The man left the store in a gold van. The suspect was wearing a gray jacket with a black shirt and pants. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects in either case should contact Detective Earl McFarland at 985-902-2043 OR Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.
